The Cruz Roja Mexicana functions 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Like the American and Canadian Red Cross, it assists at disasters, but additionally acts as an Emergency Medical Service. By Mexican law, it is the only organization, outside of big cities, authorized to render first aid to anyone injured in an auto accident.

This is the place to go if you have no cash. You will be stabilized and referred to a local low cost clinic (the Cento de Salud).

Centro de Salud   

This is a low cost government clinic located just off of the main street coming into town. Turn right at the La Vaquita III grocery store (Mar Bermejo Sur) . This clinic is open to anyone, resident or not. This is where you go if you have a bad rash or a broken leg. If needed you are stabilized and transported to the main hospital in Mexicali.

IMSS Clinic

This is a full service clinic open to workers and other residents (IM3 needed) after registering in the central office and paying the yearly premium (approximately $300 per year). There is usually someone who speaks English on the premises. For routine visits it is best to bring an interpreter.
